Using the model gaze to bring objects to life

While playing around with collaging, I started moving my cut-outs from paper planes to objects around me. 

In doing so, the objects around me started to come to life. There was a nuance in matching an intense facial expression to a specific object that I deemed to ‘match’ it’s persona.

The model gaze is one that’s crafted; whether the model is intending to come off seductive, handsome, debonair, kind...they’ve become experts in capturing your attention and giving off a personality at first glance.

It becomes pretty comical when you bring that personality to an object. Things are specifically designed to give off a certain feeling that attracts you, and to either highlight it or subvert it through magazine cutouts has started to make me see objects differently.
