The mental conversation with optimism and pessimism as I deal with cancer and life.

On July 31, 2015 I was diagnosed with cancer.

While coping with a cancer diagnosis, I realized that my internal banter was both heartbreaking and hilarious. I created Texting With Cancer to invite others into my internal monologue as I dealt diagnosis and treatment.

It was presented in a mobile texting format so readers could experience what I was going through chronologically in a familiar, personal way. Readers followed me through chemotherapy, side effects, depression and my struggles. I shared my physical pain and mental anguish as I worried about treatment, bills, losing my hair and my future.

It was updated in real time so people could check daily and feel what it's like to be a person living and dealing with cancer on a day-to-day basis.

I unveiled it the day I began treatment so people could follow everything as it was unfolding before me, experiencing it as close to real time as possible.

“ intimate and powerful look at the daily minutiae of battling cancer.”
